After the long, harsh winter we all experienced in the Northeast this year, I couldn’t be more excited for the oppressive heat and humidity that are right around the corner. Dawn patrol rides “down the shore” and swimming hole day-trips are within sight, and the infamous Italiano’s water ice stand on my South Philadelphia block is slated to open next weekend. Summer in Philadelphia is one of the best experiences I’ve known and I’m glad to be here for another one.
I’ve spent a lot of the last month or so catching up with friends both on and off the bike. It’s been awesome to see everyone at the RELoad bags April Fools ride, the Red Hook Crit, on the roads around Philadelphia, and in the woods at the Belmont Plateau.
